The dolphins you will be seeing on our tours are WILD and FREE and HAPPY, unlike the dolphins you might see in one of the many dolphin prisons.
The dolphin prisons use the term "structured swim".
A "structured swim" means the dolphins are held in a prison against their will and forced to swim with you like slaves whether they like it or not!
Since we are not a dolphin prison, we do not do a "structured swim".
Dolphins are a lot like humans in that they have different moods at different times and their moods are constantly changing.
If they are feeding, sleeping, caring for their young, mating, etc., they may not want us in the area observing them.
But, then again, we might catch them in a playful mood and we will have a big time observing them.
If they are not in a playful mood, they will just simply swim away or ignore us, unlike the dolphins in the dolphin prisons who cannot get away from you because they are forced to live in a pen.
Many times if the dolphins are not in a playful mood, we will go on to do other things like snorkeling on a coral reef or on a shallow water shipwreck or explore the back country mangrove areas and look for birds, turtles, rays, tropical fish, coral, sponges, etc. Then we will return a little later to the dolphins to see if they are in a playful mood. They are in playful moods quite frequently but there is no set pattern to it.
